Tipping Point Cohorts are a new way for teachers in the Rhode Island area to get support and inspiration to propel their practice forward. Tipping Point Cohorts gather small groups of teachers at a specific grade level who meet once a month to observe classroom instruction through video and discuss cutting-edge instructional techniques. Each Tipping Point Cohort is facilitated by an experienced teacher who uses their own classroom as the basis for the sessions – each group is grounded in the real work of a high-poverty urban school.
In the Fall of 2009 five grade-level Tipping Point Cohorts in grades K-4 will gather to observe highly effective elementary reading instruction.
