EC Ning Book Club: "Readicide," by Kelly Gallagher

In a few days we will begin the second English Companion Ning Book Club, the first having focused on Maja Wilson's Rethinking Rubrics. (Click here to visit and read all the postings from that ECN Book Club.)

Kelly Gallagher himself will be facilitating the discussion and will post some guiding questions as we read it. Here is a link to Kelly's website for more information on him and his work. I thought, as we did with Maja's book, that we might give Kelly some idea of what is on our minds prior to beginning so he can frame his questions accordingly. See the discussion group titled "Questions to Consider: Readicide."

We are very fortunate to have Kelly as a member of our EC Ning community and to get him to lead the Readicide book club. For the first of many times to come: Thank you to Kelly Gallagher and all those who will contribute to the great discussion to come!

I haven't done it yet. Any new text as to be adopted, etc. I am considering it for next year (although my book club just read it ,and there were some who HATED it--I was surprised at the intensity of their response.)

My book just arrived so I don't know if this is answered there, but my concern is how to fit it all in. I'd love to write, write, write with my students, but the course IS British Literature. Unfortunately, we do not have a separate writing course...

Reading this post made me hear what Taylor was saying a bit differently. A bit closer, in fact, to the point I was making in my post above.
